2019 BMW X2 M35i F39 has youth following

X2 has youth following BMW says that the combination of sportiness and polarising appearance presented by the X2 has inspired a young and modern target group, following its March 2018 premiere. To build on that, the company is gearing up to launch a top-of-the-range performance model – the X2 M35i – which will go on sale in March 2019.

Powered by BMW’s most powerful, two-litre, TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 306hp, the new model will feature intelligent four-wheel drive technology paired to an eight-speed, M Performance-tuned, Steptronic transmission (including Launch Control). This combination, plus the engine’s 450Nm of torque, will rocket the X2 M35i to 62mph in 4.9 seconds.

The new model features an M Sport suspension system that’s been specifically tuned and adapted to match the car’s sporty character. An adaptive suspension offering two different manually adjustable modes and combining maximised sportiness and driving comfort, is also optionally available. Another technical highlight – and a first for an M Performance vehicle – is the M Sport Differential installed in the front axle gear. During highly dynamic driving manoeuvres, this locking differential effectively reduces front wheel traction losses.

The X2 M35i’s braking system has been upgraded, too, featuring dark blue metallic calipers and 18in steel discs at the front (17s at the rear).

While its looks may polarise opinion, BMW says the X2 is attracting a fresh, young audience, and that this M35i range-topper will encourage them further. You’ll need your Ray-Bans on inside this version of the 2019 BMW X2 M35i F39!
