We don’t get the seven-seat Volkswagen Atlas SUV over here in the UK, although there are rumours VW might be bringing it to our shores one day, but that doesn’t mean we can’t tell you about the badass one APR built themselves over at their Alabama base.
DEMO TRACK
Choosing the model sharing the GTI’s 2.0-litre TSI, APR fitted one of its Carbon Fibre Intake Systems, one of its Cast Race DP Exhaust Systems, one of its Turbo Inlet Pipes and Turbo Muffler Deletes, APR software and a custom cat-back exhaust. The result of that APR goodness going in under the hood results in 350bhp and 350lb/ft, surpassing the output offered by the V6-engined model. As you can see APR didn’t just up the Atlas’ performance, it’s been lifted 1.5” with billet suspension components and new trailing arms and an APR big brake kit with 350mm discs and six-pot calipers sits behind the 9×20” APR S01 wheels, themselves wrapped in massive Toyo Open Country M/T rubber. Verdict? Yep, we’d rock it, big time!
