Three teed Up… The next iteration of BMW’s core car will be lighter and sport a mighty four-pot engine.
BMW has jumped on the official spy-photograph bandwagon, releasing some early details regarding the next-generation 3 Series, along with snaps of the camouflaged car being tested at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The G20 3 Series will be offered with what BMW claims is the most powerful four-cylinder engine fitted to one of its production cars, along with a further developed eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, BMW has withheld official figures until the car’s official Paris Motor Show reveal, but it has been more candid about weight reduction (the next 3 Series will be 55 kg lighter on average), plus there’ll be wider tracks, lift-related dampers to improve ride quality and a centre of gravity that’s 10 mm lower than before.
