Other Audi Quattros

IROZ MOTORSPORT

Hank Iroz has carved a niche for himself as one of the world’s leading 2.5 TFSI 5-cylinder tuners. His own car is this immaculate red Ur-quattro, which he’s fitted with an 800bhp TT RS engine. He was the first to make the conversion work – and it’s become the ultimate modern refresh for any Urquattro owner looking or reliable, big power performance. Nice work.

UK QUATTRO

This fresh, white Ur-quattro was featured last year. It’s a perfect example of a nicely restored and tastefully tuned car – it holds true to the original, but has some modern enhancements. It’s running around 330bhp and includes AP Racing brakes, plus other chassis upgrades to bring it bang up to date.

S1 E2 REP

It may look like it came off a mid-80s rally stage, but this Group B monster is actually a replica, hand-built by one man from Merseyside. Colin Hinde spent three years transforming his firedamaged Ur-quattro into the SWB stunner you see here. It really is a work of art. The 500bhp 2.2 5-cylinder unit features anti-lag and this thing is savagely quick.

SPORT QUATTRO REP

This Retropower-built Sport quattro replica is an amazing piece of engineering. Brought to the Leicestershire based retro car specialists, it needed a lot of work to bring it back to its former glory, but the team totally aced it. Not only is this short sport immaculate, it’s also got the power to be used as intended (over 500bhp) – the owner even uses it to compete in sprints and hill climbs. Good man.

S1 E2 REP

As replicas go, this has to be about as close to the original as it’s possible to get. It graced the cover of issue 022, which went on to be one of our best-selling issues ever. The owner, Petri Opas, spent over £250k creating this masterpiece as a homage to the original car, driven by Hanu Mikkola. It’s a truly stunning machine and a bona fide work of art. But it also make a rather handy 650hp and 700Nm.
