Ducati has made numerous small changes to its Scrambler line, Multistrada 950 and XDiavel/S, details of which you can see on our website. This bike gets the XDiavel-derived 1,262cc L-twin and improved ergonomics and rider controls, plus a (slightly) lower seat height and shorter suspension travel, the better for most of us to ride the beast. All-new Ducatis include the 2019 Hypermotard 950 ($13,295 MSRP), which gets a design refresh that includes a lighter curb weight, more power and a new throttle-by-wire system. Higher compression in the 937cc Testastretta 11-degree twin, a new 53mm throttle body and exhaust system with twin underseat silencers result in a claimed increase of four horsepower, for a peak of 114 at 9,000 rpm. The new steel trellis frame is lighter and a redesigned rear subframe results in a 2-inch-lower seat height. A Hypermotard 950 SP model ($16,695 MSRP) adds a flat seat, increased- travel Öhlins suspension, Marchesini forged wheels and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down Evo, as well as carbon fiber components such as the front fender and timing belt covers.
Overall weight reduction from the previous model is 8.8 pounds (6.6 pounds for the SP). Electronics include a 4.3-inch TFT display, compact LED headlight assembly with DRL, three ride modes, Bosch Cornering ABS Evo with Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control Evo, Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down Evo (standard on the SP, optional on regular model) and the optional Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).
The Diavel 1260 ($19,995 MSRP) is coming back with a decidedly more contemporary slant. An upgraded chassis makes it more responsive, and the S version features fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, dedicated wheels and an even higher-performance braking system, with Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down Evo as standard to allow clutchless shifting.
