The RAC has developed an EV Boost system capable of giving stranded out-of-charge electric car motorists a shot of power to get them to the nearest charger.
The lightweight mobile EV charger can boost from of the RAC’s distinctive orange roadside rescue vans enabling it to be rolled out to hundreds of patrol vehicles to match the increasing demand for EVs. The first six patrol vans equipped with the new EV generators will take to the roads in June 2019 in London, Birmingham and Manchester and will be prioritised to areas with high call-outs.
