‘Noise cameras’ are the latest killjoy plans to be unleashed upon the roads. The Department for Transport says the cameras will fine cars or motorbikes exceeding the legal noise limit. The system is being trialled over the next seven months, and works in the same way as speed cameras, capturing number plates of offending vehicles.
With noise pollution being such a problem, will there be fines for those who spend entire bank holidays doing noisy DIY, to the chagrin of their neighbours? Thought not…
