Stylish coupe and performance model launched together. Details of the sleek coupe version of the new GLE have been announced and AMG is wasting no time in also revealing pictures and details of the GLE53 version that will join it upon release.
The new model effectively blends the sporty style of a coupe with the engineering of the latest large premium SUV from Mercedes. At the launch, the model will be available with two powerful six-cylinder diesel engines in the form of the 350d and 400d models. There will be no petrol model from Mercedes yet, which is part of the reason why the AMG 53 version, (which is petrol powered), will be launched at the same time to help cover the gap. Preparations are under way for a plug-in hybrid version with a practical, locally emission-free range as is the same for the GLE SUV. All models feature the latest 4Matic gearbox. The new GLE coupes from Mercedes-Benz and AMG are being presented to the public for the first time at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt and will arrive at the dealerships in spring 2020.
