Audi teases All-Electric PB18 E-Tron Supercar

Audi teases All-Electric E-Tron Supercar. Audi is set to reveal a stunning all-electric supercar concept at the Laguna Seca racetrack, before displaying it at the ‘Quail’ during the exclusive 2018 Pebble Beach Car Week in California. Only a teaser photo has been released so far, but the Audi PB18 e-tron is likely to set the tone for Audi’s future performance models. Its name stands for Pebble Beach, along with the year of its debut, and pays tribute to the LeMans winning Audi R18 e-tron, with lessons learnt from the racing car inspiring “the solutions for various details” around the supercar concept.

From the teaser, its huge front wheelarches and narrow cabin certainly appear to be more like those of an LMP1 prototype racer, with some elements of the Audi R8 supercar also likely. Audi recently announced the e-Tron electric SUV would be its first production car with a live camera feed instead of rear-view mirrors, and the PB18 e-tron also appears to sport small rear-facing cameras to reduce drag.

The PB18 e-tron styling was developed at Audi’s latest design facility, the Malibu Design Loft in California. The German manufacturer describes it as a “design study for a puristic sports car for the future” that puts the emphasis on “emotion instead of emissions”.
