1984 BMW 745i E23 5-Speed manual M88 engined SA model road test

Few large cars in the world rival it, for both performance and refinement. But unfortunately it's reserved for the few who can afford it... South Africa can be proud of it; a car that packs a massive punch in a velvet glove and is available nowhere else on earth, in this form. It is, of course, the BMW 745i E23 - the M1-engined M88 7-Series flagship - and if our introduction sounds over-enthusiastic, for a road test, for once it is justified. It is a magnificent motorcar.
