Jaguar I-Pace joins NHS

A fleet of 700 all-electric I-PACEs is to be offered to public sector staff working across Northumbria, over a three-year period.

The news comes as Jaguar Land Rover UK and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust decide to give staff from more than 200 organisations across the county access to lease the Jaguar. Employees will pay for their vehicles via salary sacrifice.

The reigning Car of the Year and zero-emission Jaguar I-PACE SUV, which was developed in the UK, complements the NHS’ ambition to reduce its carbon footprint and be more sustainable. It demonstrates JLR’s latest electric vehicle technology to deliver clean, sustainable and efficient transport. Sir James Mackey – chief executive of Northumbria Healthcare, says, “To have a fleet of cars that are fully electric demonstrates our on-going commitment to making decisions that reduce our impact on the environment and help us become greener.

“We are delighted to be working with Jaguar Land Rover UK. This is a great deal for NHS and public sector staff, and delivers genuine benefit to our patients.”

The fleet of I-PACEs will be available to public sector staff at organisations that are signed up to NHS Fleet Solutions from April 2020.
