A range-topping Kodiaq Laurin & Klement is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting at £35,945 for the 148bhp 2.0-litre TDI 4×4 manual. A DSG automatic transmission is available for £1,300, while the more powerful 188bhp edition of the engine costs £38,105. All models feature four-wheel-drive and come fitted with seven seats. Designed to sit above the Edition model that has been the flagship up until now, the new L&K model is designed to honour the company’s founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement.

There’s a new chrome front grille, a distinctive L&K signature on the front wings and 19-inch alloy wheels finished in grey, together with uniquely styled front and rear bumpers. Inside, there’s a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, piano black dashboard appliqués, ambient lighting and aluminium trimmed pedals. There’s a Columbus navigation system, 360-degree cameras, progressive steering, curtain airbags, an uprated audio system and heated front windscreen, too. The new model commands a £2,550 price premium over the Edition models, with Skoda saying that the cost of the options fitted to the L&K as standard would normally cost more than £3,000.
