Record-Breaking Jaguar XE SV Project 8

The XE SV Project 8 has confirmed its status as the world’s fastest four-door car. With racing driver Randy Pobst at the wheel, the 600PS (592bhp), 200mph fourdoor, road-legal sedan set a new track record by lapping the 2.238-mile, Californian WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 1min 37.54secs – almost a second faster than the previous production sedan record.

The managing director of JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations, Michael van der Sande, said, “This is another powerful demonstration of the Jaguar XE SV Project 8’s performance credentials. Designed, engineered and hand-assembled by Special Vehicle Operations, this record-breaking sedan is made for the world’s most demanding driving enthusiasts.

Last year, the Project 8 lapped Germany’s famed Nürburgring Nordschleife in a record 7min 21.23secs.
